Why Support CUF?
Back to Support CUF

Supporting the efforts of CUF has never been more important.

With frequent attacks against the Church, misrepresentations of the official teachings of the faith, and fewer places where authentic and accurate information can be found, the ongoing work of CUF is clearly important.

CUF builds up the Church by forming lay Catholics who know their faith and love the Church. CUF members go out into the world empowered to live our vocation of serving Christ while working toward the evangelization of all people and the unity of the Church.

Members of Catholics United for the Faith receive many benefits. As a member of CUF, you can:

  • Find answers to your questions about the Catholic Faith with the help of CUF’s Catholic Responses department.
  • Nourish your faith with outstanding Catholic books and Bible studies from Emmaus Road Publishing.
  • Go on a mini-retreat with every issue of CUF’s award-winning Lay Witness magazine.
  • Feed your soul with CUF’s free online Sunday homily service.
  • Support your local church and meet other faithful, committed Catholics by joining or forming a CUF chapter.

Not only do members benefit from the work of CUF, but their continued support helps CUF to serve the Church in various ways. Through your continued support, you also help CUF:

  • Provide Lay Witness subscriptions and other orthodox Catholic materials to prison inmates and foreign missionaries.
  • Maintain and expand our website, making relevant, orthodox Catholic materials available to the English-speaking world. We’ve heard from many people who found their way into the Catholic Church using the materials posted on our site.
  • Help Catholics respond constructively to parish difficulties.
  • Be a faithful voice when media outlets—such as The New York Times and National Public Radio—call our staff for commentary.

From Our Founder

I also agree that the laity generally are still too passive (that is, when they’re not too aggressively active!). That is really one of the basic reasons for the existence of CUF: to be a little alarm clock to wake people up, and then a center around which they can rally, and act in the way befitting members of Christ’s true Church. . . . The situation keeps changing, and it’s important that the laity try to act under some kind of coordination, which only an organization like CUF can provide.
