Men's Retreat May 29-31

Irondale, AL--And well worth the travel!

CUF President Mike Sullivan spent this last weekend on retreat at the Casa Maria Retreat House of the Sister Servants of the Eternal Word.

The Sisters asked him to help spread the word that they’re hosting a great retreat for men this May. It’s called “Christ Our Hope: Deepening Your Spiritual Life” and will be given by Fr. Larry Paolicelli of the Archdiocese of New York.

It’s the weekend of May 29-31, 2009. Cost is $160 for an individual or $135/person for a group.You can reach the Sisters through their website or by phone (205-956-6760). The Retreat House is located at: 3721 Belmont Road / Birmingham, AL 35210-3434.

Genuine renewal is what CUF is ultimately seeking to further. And genuine renewal is, as Pope Paul has stressed again and again, an inner, personal, moral, and religious renewal; because there can be no genuine renewal in the Church except by the individual response of her members to the universal vocation to holiness. Many of our chapters have begun primarily as groups who come together to deepen their spiritual life and their knowledge of the Church-especially of the documents of Vatican II. It is astonishing how different they are from that cloudy “spirit of Vatican II’ which is used so powerfully to undermine the Church.
